MNC DOG PROJECT WEEK
The previous week has been super busy on the trust side with the Mara North Conservancy Dog Project. Karen Blixen Camp Trust is a Kenyan nonprofit organization located in the unique and fragile ecosystem of the Masai Mara in Kenya. Together with donors and partners, they support conservation of wildlife and wilderness, community empowerment, and childhood and vocational education hence coming up with the Mara North Conservancy Dog project. Maasai Rianda Women Group.
Karen Blixen Camp through Karen Blixen Camp Trust created a platform for women within the community called the Maasai Rianda Women Group. The group comprises of 31 women who were drawn from the manyattas near the camp. The group comprises of vulnerable single mothers and widowed women who had no source of income but now are being empowered to bring sustainable and positive change to their lives through bead work. Internship Time!! Karen Blixen Cooking School interactive cooking classes It is finally time for the CS2201 team, which is the current cohort of cooking school students to go for their internship. The young upcoming chefs have been in the school since January where, for the last six months they were being trained from basic culinary theory and food production to developing confidence in the kitchen. In addition, with Karen Blixen Camp kitchen department being welcoming they had regular hands on live experience on what it entails to work in the kitchen.

In January the cooking school had the pleasure of hosting MMWCA (Maasai Mara Wildlife Conservancies Association) Program Officers on a tour of the school.

Hospitality School 2020 Intake
Cooking school students are back at the hospitality school for the final bit of their course with the examinations slated for June this year.
