Karen Blixen Camp is fully powered by a solar panel system with back-up battery bank providing 24 hours electricity for all facilities. The solar panels collect solar radiation from the sun and convert this energy into electricity.
One of the many advantages of staying in Mara North Conservancy is the opportunity to enjoy night game drives. Karen Blixen Camp offers night game drives using infrared filtered spotlights which enhance better night sightings. The feeling and the smells of the savannah are completely different.

Simon Saidimu is a bronze rated guide having joined the guiding team on 26th December 2017. He has grown through the ranks since February 2010, working in various departments from Housekeeping the public areas and rooms to his current guiding department.
Through the amazing donations from the guests staying at Karen Blixen Camp the IT class has managed to buy a total of 9 new laptops that will replace the old laptops that were being previously used at the school to teach the cooking school students, the Karen Blixen Camp staff and the local community.
