Celebrating Mazingira Day at Karen Blixen Camp
On October 10th, Karen Blixen Camp once again proudly celebrated Mazingira Day, a Kenyan public holiday dedicated to environmental conservation. Mazingira, meaning “environment” in Swahili, is a day dedicated to raising awareness about environmental conservation, a cause that aligns perfectly with our values at the camp. True to our long-standing tradition, we marked this special day by planting more plant more Indigenous trees within the campgrounds, reinforcing our commitment to preserving the local environment.
This tree-planting activity is an essential part of our conservation efforts, aimed at restoring natural habitats and enhancing the ecological balance of the area. It reflects our dedication to sustainability and protecting the beauty of the Masai Mara for future generations.
At Karen Blixen Camp, Mazingira Day is a proud tradition that highlights our continuous efforts in environmental stewardship, and we remain committed to preserving the natural landscapes that make this region so unique.
