We are honoured to be a Gold rated camp since 2017. Ecotourism Kenya awards camps that are involved in responsible and sustainable tourism practices in tourism sector but above all transforming communities’ lives by investing in transformation projects. Briquettes production, beads project, cooking school, provision of employment to 85% of the employees from the local community, Maasai village visits, donation of Mobile Bomas through Karen Blixen camp Trust, Donation of Helicopter that is dedicated to conservation and mitigating human wildlife conflicts, payment of Mara North Conservancy leases, payment of leases and bed nights fees to the landowners are all ways in which Karen Blixen Camp practices responsible tourism.
